Bequant is a leading network optimization software company from Madrid, Spain, focused on developing technology that adds intelligence to networks, to extract the maximum performance out of available infrastructure. Started by the founders of Netspira Networks, a pioneering Deep Packet Inspection company acquired by Ericsson, Bequant has built a patent portfolio in network congestion management.Based on those patents, and with funding from Inveready, it has developed the BQN product, which includes TCP Optimization, Bandwidth Management, and Network Visibility functionalities. The BQN product has been acquired by over 450 networks world-wide, including wireless, fiber, satellite, and cable ISPs, mobile cellular networks, and enterprise and hospitality networks.
Jose founded and led, as CEO, NetSpira Networks, a pioneer company in the field of deep-packet inspection for mobile broadband, which was acquired by Ericsson and fully integrated into their mobile broadband portfolio. Before NetSpira, he was one of the founders of Inspira, a solar-power tracker technology start-up. Before that, he worked at Atos Origin and Lucent Technologies in Madrid.
Jose holds a MSc degree in Electronics Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, PA) and a Telecommunications Engineer degree from UPM Madrid.
Guillermo was co-founder and CTO at NetSpira Networks, and, after the acquisition by Ericsson, led the successful integration of the NetSpira DPI software into three different Ericsson product lines. Before that, he worked at Teligent in Madrid and Digital Equipment Corporation in Boston (Massachusetts).
Guillermo holds a BSc and a MSc degree in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
Luis was VP of Product Management at NetSpira Networks and, after the acquisition by Ericsson, led the successful integration of the NetSpira team into the Ericsson organization. Before that, he worked at Nortel, Atos Origin and Telefonica R&D in Madrid, and Cable & Wireless in London.
Luis holds a Telecommunications Engineering degree from UPM Madrid and a PDD master from IESE.
Iñigo has held engineering and sales roles at Lucent and Nortel, as well as senior international positions at various telecom operators, including VP Corporate Business Development in EMEA for Telefonica Moviles and in Asia for Telefonica, CEO of Meditel, a mobile and fixed operator in Morocco, and VP Mobile Operations for Telefonica in Latin America. More recently, he co-founded and led Emtrics, a Customer Experience Management startup.
Iñigo holds a Telecommunications Engineer degree from UPM Madrid and an MBA from the Collège des Ingénieurs (Paris, France).
