Bequant Unveils BQN R4.22, with Major Improvements in Bandwidth Management and Network Visibility

The new Bequant BQN R4.22 adds heat-maps to improve the analysis of network metrics over time. It also adds a new bandwidth management feature by allowing different priorities for some application while speed limits are enforced. Both metrics and bandwidth management can be performed per subscriber or per group of subscribers.

Heat maps to improve network visibility

Bequant announces the release of BQN R4.22, also available as Cambium Networks QoE R4.22. This version brings significant new functionality and now supports Mellanox Network Interface Cards in addition to Intel NICs.

In terms of network visibility, BQN R4.22 features new heat-maps that allow users to view metrics over time for many subscribers or subscriber groups, making it easier to detect behavior patterns. For instance, it becomes straightforward to identify subscribers or groups of subscribers, such as access points in Wireless ISPs, that experience the highest latencies or packet losses over periods of up to three months. Combined with real-time live Deep Packet Inspection (DPI), which was introduced in R4.19, the Bequant BQN offers an unparalleled level of network visibility.

Bandwidth management has also been enhanced, enabling users to configure different priorities for applications. This means that when a subscriber or group of subscribers reaches a speed limit, certain types of content can be prioritized over others. With BQN R4.22, it is now possible to control bandwidth across the entire network, for groups of subscribers, for individual subscribers, and for specific applications used by each subscriber, providing comprehensive control at many levels over any network. R4.22 also allows limiting the maximum number of concurrent flows per user.

"We're excited to introduce BQN R4.22," said José López, CEO of Bequant. "Our enhanced bandwidth management and network visibility features, which add to our TCP Optimization, advanced queueing technology and Machine-Learning-based Automatic Congestion Control, help our customers deliver an exceptional quality of experience."
